The Agro-Industrial Innovation and Technology Programme (AIIP) is an undergraduate Bachelor of Science course offered by the Faculty of Agro-Industry of Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand. The course (instructional and practical) will be conducted in English.
The course content is composed of 3 major components which are science and technology of the transformation of agricultural materials into products, business administration for agro-industrial business, and arts and social science for aesthetic pleasure and understanding customers.
It is designed to develop in students these three major skills: the ability to design new products and procedures that can be manufactured or put into practice at the industrial level, digital literacy and entrepreneurship, and the understanding of the principles of sustainable growth.
These essential skills will be developed by our academic teaching staff of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, our academic partners from universities abroad, and experts from several cooperating industrial and professional organisations. This dedicated association of experienced teachers will ensure that these skills and the essential underlying knowledge will be transferred efficiently to the students of the course so that they are completely prepared to seek employment or start up their own business in agro-industry and work effectively under the conditions that world-wide society has now imposed upon the sustainability and well-being of the population.
New innovative ideas must be developed to address the solution of problems facing mankind. We must ensure that we adopt sustainable efficient technological and scientific approaches to develop and exploit them.
Entrepreneurship is one of many important skills in business. However, we believe that the essence of entrepreneurship is not merely smart risk taking. Its implications also must be considered very carefully.
What we do today has a profound effect on our future. We will emphasize the importance of maintaining biodiversity and protecting the environment and the well-being of mankind. Our actions must never compromise the quality of life for future generations.
